VENEZIA INTRODUCES NEW DRIVER PAY PACKAGE
LIMERICK, PA.
December 8, 1999 --
Venezia Hauling has introduced a new driver pay package that raises
the industry standard with increased base pay and upgrades in hourly
rates for the dry and liquid bulk divisions.
According to Vice President of Operations, Louis Capolino, hourly
rates for Venezia's Hauling Division drivers have been increased
approximately 25 percent, and premiums have jumped an additional 25 percent for weekend
work. In addition, Venezia offers a variety of Incentive and Recognition programs that can
increase driver earnings and provide additional rewards for reaching performance targets.
"Our goal is to remain the industry leader in the area of driver
compensation by continuously reviewing and revising the pay packages for all Venezia
drivers, "Capolino said. "To this end, our improved Hauling Division pay package
reflects our appreciation for a job well done and underscores our commitment to attracting
and keeping the best drivers in this very competitive employment market." Highlights
of Venezia's new Hauling pay package include:
- Six-plus percent increase in base rates
- Increase in weekend differential, with drivers paid 25 percent more for Saturday and
Sunday work.
- Increase in holiday differential, with drivers paid 50 percent more,plus $100 holiday
bonus.
- Increase to $.40 mile for long-haul bulk loads.
Introduction of Emerald Club rewards compensation for drivers meeting 10 or more
monthly performance targets. Venezia employs approximately 200 drivers in the Venezia
Hauling
Division. The new pay package which mirrors the improvements
already in place for Venezia Transport Division earlier in December 6th.
