Venezia Participates in Susquehanna Valley The Make-A-Wish Foundation Convoy is the main fundraiser for the Susquehanna Valley branch in Pennsylvania. This convoy is held every year on Mothers Day in the parking lot of Berle Industries in Lancaster, PA. In the morning, there were games for the kids, entertainment, food an a benefit auction. All items are donated with a 100% of the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish. The convoy pulls out in the early afternoon and follows a route from Lancaster to Ephrata and back. Venezia driver Ron Stevens participated in the 15th annual Make A Wish Foundation Mothers Day Convoy in Lancaster County, PA on May 9, 2004. Almost 400 drivers participated in the event, which in 2003 was certified as the World's Longest Convoy by the Guinness Book of World Records. By having fundraising activities that included candy sales, Krispy Kreme doughnut sales, and sold certificates to redeem for a hoagie at Wawa Convenience Stores, as well as contributions, Ron raised over $800 for his entry into the convoy, and is working on plans to raise more for the 2005 convoy. Eighty-five cents from every dollar raised for Make A Wish goes directly to granting wishes for terminally ill children. For more information, visit http://www.wish.org
